Welcome to 21st Century Electronic Civil Disobedience.

The Citizen Hacktivist is a “think tank” that explores the fusion of politics, information technology, and civic activism, whilst also serving as an incubator for revolutionary thoughts.

Armed with Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states that:

“Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.”

The Citizen Hacktivist seeks to assist in restoring the hope and promise that the original notion of the internet once held out as a border-less form of free expression, global communications, and access to information for EVERYONE. To accomplish this, cutting edge hypermedia technologies wil be harnessed to disseminate ideas, shed light on unlawful censorship and surveillance practices wherever they exist, and to hold states and corporations accountable for the limitations they impose on free speech and access to information online.

The Citizen Hacktivist blog represents my personal views and do not neccessarily reflect the views of the Citizen Lab.
